I was prowling and growling around the canyons near Ojai, California. Up a narrow lane I came across two enormous longhorn's in a pasture. Set up shots. Bupkis. No good. Decided I had to get into the field with them, no barriers. I did. This longhorn was gazing across the valley at the cows in the distance. Then he turned toward me....

Many Thanks, Jolene! I just took a new turn up a one lane road & ended up on an old Hearst property. This bad boy was in a small pasture with his brother, off camera right. Shots from the safety of the unseen road werer usless, so I hopped over the barbed wire into the enclosure with him. At first he was looking longingly across the valley toward the heifers. Then he turned right at me. I shot. Then his bro got up. I high-tailed it over the fence at my high-school 100-yard dash pace!
